At Sherborne Lodge, we believe that the best holidays are the ones where you instantly feel at home. That’s exactly what we’ve set out to create – a relaxed, welcoming space where every guest (and their pets!) can truly unwind.
We’re a small, family-run guest house based in the beautiful Torrs Park area of Ilfracombe, just a short walk from the town centre, harbour, beaches and coastal paths. Whether you’re here for a weekend break, an active holiday, or just passing through North Devon, we’re here to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
Meet Your Hosts
We’re Lynne, Laura, and Ben – a close-knit team with a passion for hospitality and a genuine love for our little corner of Devon. You’ll usually find one of us welcoming guests at the door, cooking breakfast in the morning, or chatting in the bar in the evening.
We don’t just run Sherborne Lodge – we live here too. So we’ve put thought into every part of the experience, from comfy rooms and hearty food to the kind of personal service that’s getting harder to find.
Rooted in Ilfracombe
We’re proud to be part of the Ilfracombe community and always happy to share our local recommendations – whether it’s the best beach for surfing, a great walk with sea views, or where to get the best cream tea nearby.
Our location makes it easy to explore North Devon’s highlights, including Woolacombe, Exmoor National Park, and Tunnels Beaches, all just a short drive or walk away.
Pets Welcome – Always
We know pets are part of the family, and they’re just as welcome here as you are. At Sherborne Lodge, we do more than just tolerate pets — we love having them around. From treats at breakfast (yes, we’ve been known to sneak a sausage or two) to comfy spots on the terrace, we make sure your four-legged friends feel right at home.
Many of our returning guests bring their dogs with them, and we’ve designed our spaces to make it easy – whether it’s finding nearby walking trails or simply providing a warm, pet-loving atmosphere.
Our Honesty Bar – Just Like Home
At the heart of the lodge is our relaxed, family-style honesty bar. It’s stocked with a great mix of beers, ciders, wines, and spirits – and the best part? You can help yourself. Just note down what you’ve had, and settle up when you’re ready.
The bar opens onto a sun terrace where you can enjoy a quiet drink, and inside you’ll find a pool table, dartboard, and board games. It’s a casual, sociable space where guests often strike up a chat, wind down after a day out, or just enjoy a peaceful drink in their own time.
